Even with gray, foreboding skies, 15 of us showed up this past Sunday with smiles on our faces for a Walk-n-Talk in the rain! We could have been home, cozy, warm and dry, but we met up, instead, for a stroll and a chat. Decked out in rain gear, our spirits weren’t dampened a bit.
“If it weren’t for all of you, I would have found an excuse not to walk in the rain today. It’s because of all of you that I’m here. Thank you!”, said Maureen Hoffmann, WABI President and Walk-n-Talk leader. “If it weren’t for you, WE wouldn’t be here!”, they all chimed in. Ahh, how we motivate each other.
We gathered at Lake Burien Park, then walked westward through the Seahurst neighborhood, looped past Eagle Landing Park, then down the steep hill and back up again.
Come join the next Walk-n-Talk on Sunday, June 1 at 2:00. Check back on the web site later for meet up location and walking route. As you can see, we walk rain or shine!
