Route
We’ll start our walk at Hazel Valley Park, make a northern loop around several blocks then pass by Puget Sound Park. We’ll take the foot bridge up and over 1st Avenue South, then head north and west to Arbor Lake Park. From there we’ll head east, south, then back west, returning back to Hazel Valley Park.
Hazel Valley Park
251 SW 126th St.
This former King County park is located in North Burien and was acquired in the 2009 annexation. As a neighborhood park, it is known for its meandering path and is a great place to relax. It is 2.9 acres in size.
Puget Sound Park
135 SW 126th St.
This 5-acre park is located along 1st Avenue North in north Burien. The former King County Park was acquired when the City of Burien annexed the area in 2010.
Arbor Lake Park
12380 2nd Ave. S.
This 8.5-acre park includes a small lake. The lake is the headwaters for Miller Creek. Residents from the neighborhood around the Park have been very active in working to restore the park and clean up the areas around the lake (view photos). The park also has a playground for children.

Intentions for Burien’s Walk-n-Talk:
- “Encourage active living to support physical and mental health.”
(Part of Burien’s “Vision”.) - Initiate conversation between friends and neighbors, new and old.
- Create our own little “volksmarch“, in the European tradition.
