Street Art in Des Moines
You are invited to join the WABI Weekday Walkers on a loop through Des Moines on Wednesday, Dec 17, at 10am. (Note our winter start time!)
We’ll meet at the Des Moines public library, which is closed until noon on Wednesdays. Heading generally south and then west, we’ll venture along neighborhood streets down to the southern end of the marina (by Anthony’s). Along the way, we’ll catch beautiful views across to Maury and Vashon Islands (weather permitting), pass by a 120 year old Coastal Redwood tree with a placard honoring its origins, and admire several pieces of street art.
Des Moines Marina
Once we reach the marina, we’ll turn north and walk past the boat docks and up to the pier. Then it’s uphill back to the library. Our way is on paved sidewalks and streets, with a moderate climb at the end.
All are invited to join us on this 2.5 mile loop. We expect to walk for about 75 minutes.
Date: Wednesday, December 17, 2025 (Rain or shine.)
Time: Meet a little before 10am so we can begin walking at 10:00.
Place: Meet at the Des Moines library (library is closed until noon). 21620 11th Ave S, Des Moines, WA 98198
Who: Walkers who are comfortable with moderate hills
(dogs are welcome, too.)
