Environmental information from the EcoConsumer.
Drop off your old bikes or electronics (working or not) for free recycling and
get 15% off most items in the store!
In case you haven’t been into the store yet, it’s a fantastic combination of info-zone, special recycling depot and retail store offering lots of “up-cycled” and eco products great for home use and gifting. (Among many other things, they offer some products made from recycled bicycle tires and a great, custom “Highline”Water Bottle.)
In addition to supporting Recology’s goal of “Waste Zero”, WABI also applauds their collaboration with Bike Works. When you gather old bikes and bike parts and bring them to the Recology Store, those parts and pieces are taken to Bike Works. They then clean them up, assemble “new” bikes from old parts and make them available in a variety of ways.
On Earth Day, stop by and see us, meet the great folks from Recology, maybe drop something off and pick something up. Hope to see you there.

HOW BIKE WORKS MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Bike Works builds sustainable communities by educating youth and promoting bicycling. Since 1996 we’ve worked to educate and empower youth, and make bicycling accessible and affordable to the Seattle community.
Youth Programs
We empower youth to lead healthy and productive lives. In our classroom and out in the field our youth participants build confidence, critical thinking, and life skills. They also learn what it means to give back through community service.
Adult Programs
From classes to volunteer opportunities, our adult programs engage people and promote bicycling.
Non-Profit Community Bike Shop
Our bike shop sells affordable recycled bicycles to the greater Seattle community while generating revenue to run our programs, and helps further our mission to get more people riding bikes.
Bicycle Recycling & Reuse
All of our programs are run using bikes donated to us by the community. We view each and every bicycle donated, refurbished, and recycled back into the community as one less bike in the landfill, and hopefully one less car on the road.
Community Events
We participate in dozens of community events each year throughout greater Seattle.
