If ever there were a day to wear rain slickers and carry bumbershoots, today was it! It POURED on us… and we laughed the whole way. We had so much fun that when we finished our walk, back at Town Square Park, we continued to stand there in the rain, talking.
We had a good mixed dozen, including little ones, a four-legged one, and a 50/50 split between the sexes. We moved like a starling flock, constantly shifting and mingling along our walking path (which also shifted).
They’re all smiling, except for the tyke in baby blue : (
We all remarked about how rich a walk is compared to driving. When we walk, we SEE things we wouldn’t otherwise see.
A visual favorite along this walk: the stark white tree trunks, fence rails and house trim.
A wonderful, purple-painted fence next to the brilliant green of fresh spring growth.
The stormwater retention area at SW 141st was almost filled to the brim. The city really has made a nice little park out of it. (Look at that rain coming down!)
Move over Seattle! The big city to the north has its bubble gum wall, but apparently we’ve got someone in Burien making bubble gum poles. Here are two that we found. (Hmm. How many are there?)
“The Bird House House” is covered in bird houses… and the birds were busy chirping and flitting in the rain.
