In July, we will be revisiting the popular Des Moines Creek Trail, a 2-mile paved, slightly uphill trail along the creek and through the woods.

Time: We’ll meet a few minutes before 11:00 am on Saturday July 27th and we’ll start walking promptly at 11:00 am.

Place: Our meeting spot will be between the fishing pier and the restrooms at the north Des Moines Marina parking lot. The marina parking lot is gated now and there’s a small fee for parking, so make sure you have a credit card with you if you plan to park in the lot. If you need an address for directions use 22030 Cliff Ave South, which is the Des Moines Beach Park where the trailhead is located but know that our meeting place is just outside of the Des Moines Beach Park by the marina fishing pier.

Route: We will walk about ¼ mile to the trailhead through Des Moines Beach Park, so when you add in the length of the trail, the roundtrip walk will be about 4 ½ miles. As always, we will spread out so everyone can walk at their own pace, and if you don’t have the time or energy to walk the entire route you are welcome to turn around at any point. This is a wheelchair accessible trail, although the length of the slight but steady uphill grade on the first half of the walk may be an issue for some. Strollers and four-legged friends on leash are welcome.

Info: If you have any questions or need help finding us on the day of the walk, please text or call Anna at (206) 501-5726, annamartin384@gmail.com

We hope to see you there!
