Have you been meaning to explore the stairway of 289 steps at Eagle Landing Park? Or is it already one of your favorites and you want to share it with friends? Come join WABI Burien this Saturday, February 8, for the second annual Seattle Stairways Walks.
You can read the FULL DESCRIPTION HERE, or read on for the short-and-sweet details:
WHEN:
Saturday, February 8, 2013.
Walkers will gather at 9:45. Walking will begin at 10 a.m.
WHERE:
Burien’s walk will BEGIN AT LAKE BURIEN PARK
14640 18th Ave. (due to sparse parking at Eagle Landing Park).
We will walk 6 blocks west along SW 149th St. until it curves around onto 25th Ave. SW and the entrance to Eagle Landing Park, 14641 25th Ave. SW.
STATS:
The stairway itself is 0.4 miles: 289 steps down and 289 steps up, in addition to the 6 blocks to-and-from Lake Burien Park. (The metal steps are reached by a winding dirt path which starts at the park’s trailhead.)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
WABI Burien events are FREE and open to all. During our events, we have not limited quantities of participants, nor have we asked for pre-registration, waivers, or donations.
This Seattle Stairways Walk at Eagle Landing Park, is a FREE Feet First event (as are the other simultaneous stairways walks). Since they are in our WABI Burien neighborhood, we wanted to host and participate with them on their program. Feet First requires that walkers sign a liability waiver and photo release (permission to be photographed and published) in order to participate. Online registration includes acceptance of their terms. Some waiver/release forms will be available on the day of the walk for those unable to register online. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
A donation is NOT required to participate, nor will WABI turn away walkers because a “maximum” has been reached. Just come walk with us!
