Walk Around Des Moines to View a Special Art Installation
OK we are going to try this again. (The originally scheduled Des Moines Waterland Walk was postponed due to wildfire smoke and unhealthy air.) The smoke and unhealthy air quality is supposed to clear up by Friday, so we are going to reschedule the September walk of the Des Moines Waterland Walkers for this Saturday, September 19th. Meet at 11:00 am at the Des Moines Library located at 21620 11th Ave South.
We will be checking out the book covers that the library staff has placed around Des Moines, including the police station, Fieldhouse, and Midway Park in addition to the library. Each location has a special book cover that represents the community, and highlights our neighbors, public agencies, and beautiful parks. The total distance is 3.2 miles and does include a pretty good incline up to Midway Park, so be prepared to get some exercise.
As usual, please stay home if you are not feeling well, wear a face covering, follow social distancing, and if we have more than 5 people we will split up into separate groups. Dogs and strollers are welcome.
