In November we will be re-visiting the popular Des Moines Creek Trail, a 2-mile paved, slightly uphill trail along the creek and through the woods. I walked it recently and the creek is really rushing right now due to all of the recent rain.

We’ll meet at 11:00 am on Sunday November 19th between the fishing pier and the restrooms at the north Des Moines Marina parking lot. The parking gates are raised right now so you won’t be charged for parking. If you need an address for directions use 22307 Dock Ave South but know that our meeting place is north of that address by the fishing pier.

We will walk about ¼ mile to the trailhead through Des Moines Beach Park, so when you add in the length of the trail the roundtrip walk will be about 4 ½ miles. As always, we can spread out so everyone can walk at their own pace, and if you don’t have the time or energy to walk the entire route you are welcome to turn around at any point. Strollers and dogs on leash are welcome.

If you have any questions or need help finding us on the day of the walk, you can text or call Anna at (206) 501-5726.
