Announcing the Downtown Burien Bike Rack Project

Very exciting news: WABI Burien has 41 bike racks in production, customized for the City of Burien, and they’ll be installed all over town! We’ve all been waiting a long time for this. WABI-ists have been working hard to see our city populated with bike racks. We smile at the thought of kids and their families growing up with bike racks to lock up to when they ride into town. And we believe strongly that the presence of these racks will encourage cycling for exercise, transportation and well-being and will have a positive impact on our local economy.

Don’t miss the Sponsorship Sprint!

Along with the bike racks comes a special opportunity for businesses and individuals to sponsor a rack featuring their name/logo. This offers tremendous visibility and self-promotion.

With only 41 racks available, WABI will be having a “Sponsorship Sprint” on Friday, April 19th, starting at 9:00 a.m. Prospective sponsors must send an e-mail (info@wabiburien.org) date-stamped AFTER 9:00 AM on the 19th to get into the queue to vie for one of these prime rack locations.

Suggest a Rack Location

WABI is also asking for suggestions from the community for locations to add to the list. We ask that people look at the interactive map and make a comment or send an e-mail with a wish list of bike rack hot spots.
