WABI Burien Bikers will cycle along three of Seattle’s waterways on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 beginning at 10 AM. The route begins at the Tukwila train station, and will follow the Springbrook Creek Trail and continue through the Black River Riparian Forest and Wetlands along a completed section of the Lake-to-Sound trail. The route continues to the Green River trail where we will then cycle north as the Green River becomes the Duwamish River waterway and continue as far as Cecil Moses Memorial Park. On our return trip, we will follow the Green River trail south, then connect with the Interurban trail returning back to our starting point at the Tukwila train station. The total route is 13.5 miles of flat, paved bike trail. The trip is estimated to take 90 minutes, including a break to rehydrate.
We will meet at the Tukwila train station located at 7301 Longacres Way, Tukwila, WA 98188. Parking is free.
All participants will need to bring their own bike, a bike safety helmet, and are expected to follow safety guidelines as outlined in the Ride Smart Biking tips. We also advise all bikers to bring along: water for hydration, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a small snack (granola bar, dried fruit, nuts, etc).
