Rolling rivers, flowing fields and small town charm await you on this brand new adventure. Starting and ending in Renton, this 50-mile ride travels along the picturesque Cedar River and Green River, offering riders the sound of rolling rivers and the sweet smell of pine. Featuring low-travelled roads, protected trails, and a few miles of hard-packed gravel, the Valley River Ride boasts a low elevation, nature-inspired route great for those just venturing into longer distance rides. Got a bike with road tires? No problem! Your road bike should do just fine on the varying surfaces.

There are three different riding options for the event: 35, 52 and 62 miles, all starting from the Renton Stadium. The 35-mile is an easy going, flat route, mostly along the Interurban & Green River Trails, perfect for any level of riding. The 52- and 62-mile routes continue through Auburn’s Green Valley Road to Maple Valley and onto the gorgeous and peaceful Cedar River Trail back into Renton. The 52-mile course is the main route with one challenging climb and a few rolling hills in between and the 62-mile route is offered for those who want to tackle a “metric century” with an added loop out of Green Valley Road with amazing views of Mt. Rainier. For both the 52 and 62 mile course, expect to ride on 50% paved roads, 40% protected paved trail and 10% gravel trail (5 miles).

Who does your registration support?

Did you know the Valley River Ride is a fundraiser? Your registration fee helps Cascade provide bicycle education programs for children, families, school groups and everyone else who wants to ride a bike. It also helps us advocate for safer, more connected bicycle infrastructure throughout the state and region. And thanks to you, we’re able to offer fun and challenging riding events and free group rides every day of the year! Your participation truly helps improve lives through bicycling.

Our events are made possible with support from the local communities through which we ride. In addition to supporting Cascade’s programs, your registration fee helps Cascade give back to these communities and the organizations that thrive there. We’re grateful for all their continued support.
